Langatun - Peated Rioja Cask Matured - Single Malt Whisky - 49.12% - 50cl

The new single cask bottling from Langatun may at first glance appear to belong to the «Langatun Cask Finishes» range. On closer inspection, however, it becomes clear that this is not a finish but a full maturation. The Matured bottlings are characterised by exceptional aroma intensity, offering the connoisseur a full dose of wine notes, harmoniously complemented by spicy wood tones. For this edition in particular, the cask was filled with peated single malt, giving the whisky a distinctive smoky-spicy character. Rioja is a red wine from northern Spain, renowned for its powerful and aromatic style. The cask used was lightly toasted and made of American and French oak.

This bottling is limited to 494 bottles.

Colour: Chestnut

Nose: Sweet with smoke, notes of crème brûlée, plum, damson, grape, and roasted almonds

Taste: Very spicy with slightly bitter woody notes. The sweetness remains in the background, accompanied by subtle smoke and flavors of apple strudel with raisins and cinnamon

Aftertaste: Long-lasting, with the smoke becoming more pronounced again and the woodiness taking the lead. Rather dry and spicy, with winter spices and a hint of ginger heat in the background
