Langatun - Cask Proof Distillery Edition - Batch 1 - Single Malt Whisky - 61.9% - 50cl

The Langatun Cask Proof Distillery Edition is, as the name suggests, the cask strength bottling of the Langatun Distillery. This bottling is launched on the market in batches, with the cask that performs best when tasted without water being selected. A French oak barrel was selected for batch 1. A Nero d'Avola red wine, which lent the whisky its fruity flavour, had previously lain dormant here. However, before it was finished in this cask, it was stored in a Chardonnay white wine cask from Switzerland. The single malt was distilled on 07/02/2018 and bottled on 17/11/2023. Batch 1 is limited to 140 bottles.

Colour: Red-brown

Nose: intense with aromas of red wine, forest and wood, roasted peanuts, liquorice, orange peel and crème brûlée

Palate: dense aromas with a subtle sweetness in the background and notes of red wine, wood, fresh pears, walnut, pepper with a slightly tangy fruitiness

Finish: very spicy, aromatic and long-lasting, rather dry with fruity flavours, whereby the wood pervades
