In 1616 the granary was built in Aarwangen. From then on, the grain, which was given by the farmers of the area as a harvest tax, was stored in it. When this venerable building no longer fulfilled its original purpose, it stood for years practically unused next to the continuously flowing Aare. In 2014, the historic, landmarked granary finally got a worthy purpose again. The Langatun Distillery found a new home in it, where since then, instead of just storing the grain, the finest spirits are made from it.
